Privacy Policy — Pruune
Effective Date: April 11, 2026
Last Updated: May 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Mio Kaza Studio LLC ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Pruune (the "App"). We are committed to GDPR-level data protection standards for all users worldwide.
1. Who We Are
Mio Kaza Studio LLC
Texas, United States
Contact: hello@miokaza.com
Privacy Policy URL: https://miokaza.com/pruune/privacy
For EU/EEA residents, Mio Kaza Studio LLC acts as the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with your use of the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your photos and videos are never uploaded. All photo library access, swiping, deletion decisions, and compression happens entirely on your device. We have no servers that receive or store your media.
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information directly.
- We do not use advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking, or sell data to third parties.
2.2 Data Stored On Your Device Only
The following data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (AsyncStorage). It never leaves your device unless Sentry captures it as part of a crash report (see Section 2.4):
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Onboarding completion flag | Know whether to show the intro flow |
| Badge progress (photos deleted, bytes freed, streaks, sessions) | Power your achievement gallery |
| Daily swipe count and date | Enforce free-tier limits |
| Compression queue and stats | Track pending and completed compressions |
| App preferences (dark mode, large display, batch size) | Remember your settings |
| Notification dismiss count | Avoid showing prompts too frequently |
| First-session guide state | Show tutorial only once |
2.3 Purchase Information (RevenueCat)
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and one-time purchases. When you make a purchase or restore a purchase, RevenueCat collects:
- A randomized, anonymized device identifier (not linked to your name)
- Your App Store transaction data (handled end-to-end by Apple)
- Subscription status and entitlements
RevenueCat does not receive your Apple ID, real name, or payment details — those remain with Apple. RevenueCat's Privacy Policy is available at: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Legal basis (GDPR): Contractual necessity — required to provide the paid features you purchase.
2.4 Crash and Diagnostic Data (Sentry)
We use Sentry to detect and fix app crashes. When the App crashes or encounters a significant error, Sentry may automatically collect:
- Device type, OS version, and app version
- A stack trace showing where in the code the crash occurred
- App state at the time of the crash (e.g., which screen was active)
- Device locale and timezone
- Your IP address — we have configured our Sentry project to disable IP address storage, so while Sentry may briefly process your IP in transit to determine approximate region, it is not retained on Sentry's servers.
Sentry does not receive your photos, personal files, or purchase details.
Sentry's Privacy Policy is available at: https://sentry.io/privacy/
Legal basis (GDPR): Legitimate interests — improving app stability and fixing bugs that affect all users.
2.5 Notifications
If you opt into notifications, Pruune may schedule local reminders on your device, such as cleanup nudges or streak reminders. These reminders are created and managed on-device. We do not currently collect or store a push notification token, and we do not use notifications for third-party advertising or marketing.
Legal basis (GDPR): Consent — you explicitly opt in after using the App and can withdraw at any time via iOS Settings.
2.6 Support and Rights Requests
If you contact us by email — for example, to ask a question or exercise a privacy right described in Section 7 — we will receive your email address and any information you choose to share in your message. We use this information solely to respond to your request and retain it only as long as necessary to do so and to comply with any legal obligations.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate and improve the App
- Enforce free-tier limits and unlock paid features
- Deliver in-app notifications you have consented to
- Diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. Photo Library Access
Pruune requests access to your photo library for the sole purpose of displaying photos and videos within the App so you can review, organize, delete, and compress them. We:
- Never upload your photos or videos to any server
- Never share your media with third parties
- Process compression locally on your device
- Only access media you explicitly choose to review or act on within the App
- Respect the permission level you grant (full access or limited access)
You can revoke photo library access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States (Texas). If you are located in the EEA or UK, your data (specifically Sentry crash data and RevenueCat purchase data) may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the data processing agreements with our third-party processors to ensure appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights
To make a request, contact hello@miokaza.com.
9. Children's Privacy
The App carries an App Store age rating of 4+, meaning it contains no objectionable content. However, our Terms of Service require users to be at least 13 years old to agree to these terms and make purchases.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly. Contact us at hello@miokaza.com if you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information.
EU Note: For users in the EEA under the age of 16, use of the App and consent to notification permissions requires verifiable parental or guardian consent in accordance with GDPR Article 8.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information described in this policy. All on-device data is protected by iOS device security. Third-party services (RevenueCat, Sentry) are contractually required to maintain appropriate security standards.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have concerns about data security, contact us at hello@miokaza.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
